New Footwear Company Opens in Henderson

Southern Nevada now boasts the headquarters of a new online distributor of men’s and women’s casual, dress, and performance footwear.

Liuid LLC, a start-up founded by Stan Hu, has opened an office in Henderson with five initial employees and a capital investment of $1.3 million. Liuid debuted its fall line last month, marketing the “quality, comfort, style, and value” of their shoes, including a proprietary approach to manufacturing called “antigraviti” that makes their shoes both durable and very light.

Hu is a veteran to the shoe industry. He worked for 15 years with some of the world’s largest shoe brands in positions that afforded him the opportunities to learn how to manufacture, produce, design, and market shoes. His business experience has afforded him an excellent understanding of global sourcing, and he plans to use this knowledge to expand Liuid’s operations around the world.

The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance supported Liuid with workforce, logistics, and access to industry trade shows. The LVGEA also discussed state incentives for business expansions as well as Southern Nevada’s Foreign Trade Zone.

“It is great to see Stan opening his company in Henderson after we consulted on start-up operations,” said Michael Walsh, vice president of business attraction at LVGEA. “Leveraging our region’s global connectivity and market access, Liuid has an opportunity to quickly grow in Southern Nevada, and we wish them success as they launch their company.”
