Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance Hosts Innovative ‘Rally Fighter’ at Annual Dinner
Las Vegas — Car manufacturer Local Motors will display the world’s first co-created, open-source vehicle at the Oct. 2 annual dinner of the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance.
Dinner guests will be treated to a display of the Rally Fighter, a blend of automotive power and cutting-edge technology from a company on a mission to find new ways to integrate technology to make everyday cars smarter.
“The Rally Fighter marries a globally inclusive design with dedication to local production, simultaneously creating manufacturing jobs in Las Vegas and increasing the global fluency of our workforce,” said Tom R. Skancke, President and CEO of the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance. “We’re happy to display such a symbol of innovation in transportation at our annual dinner, and we’re proud to partner a company like Local Motors.”
Local manufacturers at Local Motor’s microfactory in Downtown Las Vegas customize the rugged vehicle to each customer’s specifications. As a leader in automotive innovation, Local Motors also created the world’s first car manufactured entirely with 3-D printing technology.
“Local Motors is proud to be a collaborator with the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance,” said Jay Rogers, Founder and CEO of Local Motors. “We share the common goal of helping build great local communities that thrive in today’s global economy.”
The Rally Fighter will be on display at the Aria Resort and Casino, where the LVGEA is hosting its annual dinner on Thursday, October 2, with programming beginning at 5:30 p.m. In addition to the Rally Fighter, the LVGEA dinner will feature a special ensemble of the Las Vegas Philharmonic and an insightful keynote address from IBM’s Michael Dixon.
