LVGEA Board of Directors Endorses CCSD Reorganization

LAS VEGAS – The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA) unanimously passed a resolution today expressing its support for the Clark County School District’s (CCSD) reorganization process and the role of the Community Implementation Council in implementing the reorganization framework as outlined in Assembly Bill 394 (AB394) and regulations adopted by the State Board of Education.

As the regional development authority in Clark County, the LVGEA’s 46-member board of business and community leaders met this morning to discuss the reorganization of the nation’s fifth-largest school district and its implications to retaining, expanding and attracting high-quality jobs to Southern Nevada.

“It is critical that we as the business community continue to be strong advocate in supporting better educational outcomes for our students,” said Raymond Specht, chairman of the board of the LVGEA. “We encourage and embrace the CCSD Board of Trustees’ and School Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky’s commitment to fully implement AB394 to ensure that all Southern Nevadans have a voice in making our community a better place to live, work and raise a family.”
