A Local’s Guide to Vegas Entertainment

It's all you want and more

Millions of tourists come from all over the world to see Vegas’ legendary entertainment. Locals get a front-row seat. Entertainment of all kinds can be found on and off the Strip. It all depends on where you want to go.

Hit the Strip

There’s a reason it’s one of the top U.S. destinations. You won’t go wrong checking out some of the big-name concerts (Lady Gaga, Celine Dion and Gwen Stefani, to name check a few). But as the city becomes the Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World, you can also score tickets to a Vegas Golden Knights game, one of the most entertaining experiences in the biz. On the Strip, even food is entertainment: take Rose. Rabbit. Lie. at Cosmo for instance. It’s dinner and a show wrapped up in a revitalized social club experience, complete with twists and turns aplenty.

Off the Beaten Path

Las Vegans are an outdoorsy bunch. And how could we not be? With six national parks, nine national forests and six state parks, there’s a whole world to explore outside city limits. You can hit up Red Rock Canyon or Valley of Fire and be back by lunch. Those parks are two of our most breathtaking geological wonders, with dozens of hiking trails and wildlife spotting between them (and scenic drives because fitness isn’t for everyone). For anyone looking to leave the desert, they don’t have to go far for the pine trees of Mt. Charleston or the water-skiing at Lake Mead. Oh, and the Grand Canyon and Zion National parks are just a car ride away, so say hello to your new weekend plans.

Where the Locals Go

“Downtown” might not mean much to someone outside Vegas, but it’s what we locals know as the epicenter of arts and entertainment. It’s made up of cool spots like Fremont East Entertainment district and Downtown Arts District, where everyone who’s anyone goes to enjoy. There’s Container Park, Smith Center, Symphony Park, First Friday, and galleries galore. It’s also an up-and-coming business district filled to the brim with creatives. Downtown is also where Life Is Beautiful—maybe you’ve heard of it?—draws the biggest names in music every year.

Mix and match each of these entertaining offerings any day of the week. Here, you can choose your own adventure.
